DJ Quest remembers when Hip Hop was Hip Hop, when everybody was either an emcee, tagging, or on the tables. From back spinning on cardboard, to becoming one of the biggest DJs in the state, Quest shares his memories with Brandy. Surprisingly, DJ Quest didn’t get on the turn tables until around 2000. Even then, he had to earn his stripes studying the art, practicing his craft, carrying six crates at a time, and missing meals to purchase equipment. He talks about the grind, helping up and coming DJs, how the game has changed, and pulling back to focus on being a father. These days, it doesn’t matter if it’s 2 people or a thousand, DJ Quest has settled into his own and will rock the crowd his way.
