Episode 184 features two integral members of the Oklahoma hip hop community, Steph Simon and Keeng Cut. Steph Simon is undoubtedly one of the most influential artists from Oklahoma and Keeng Cut is definitely the king of flavor. The show was recorded live at Love More Hookah in Tulsa, OK. Steph Simon and Keeng Cut are no strangers to the show and have both appeared in episodes individually and with World Culture Music. This episode is town talk as the three friends discuss Fire in Little Africa, World Culture Music Festival, their upcoming projects, and more. Both Steph and Keeng had the vision of making World Culture Music Festival a regional celebration of music that would rival large festivals such as Made in America and South By Southwest. They share how their carefully masterminded plays allowed them to pave the way to aid in putting Tulsa, OK on the map. Their unwavering loyalty, selflessness, and supreme artistry were all pivotal attributes that contributed to making the music scene in Tulsa what it is today. World Culture Music will curate the Black Wall Street Legacy Festival which will honor the centennial of the 1921 Race Massacre and culminate with Juneteenth festivities. The Black Wall Street Legacy Festival takes place May 28th-30th and has an impressive lineup including PJ Morton, Fire in Little Africa, Soufwessdes, Parris Chariz, Charlie Redd and the Full Flava Kings and more. The World Culture Music Festival will be the following weekend, June 4th and 5th and will feature the who’s who of Oklahoma artists such as Ayilla, Gang51E June, St Domonick, Hakeem Eli’Juwon, and of course World Culture Music themselves.
