Michael Jordan stated, “Everybody has talent, but ability takes hard work.” This week’s guest, Rich Jones, not only had talent but displayed his hard work and effort on and off the basketball court. He was rated by the daily Oklahoman as one of the top 5 players and averaged 26 points a game his senior year. He shares how his coaches aided in preparing him and increased his tenaciousness. Rich had the innate ability to identify his weaknesses, but he turned them into strengths. His supreme skills, mental toughness, and determination paid off. He was scouted by top colleges but shares the story of how he ended up playing for the University Alabama at Birmingham. They advanced to the Sweet 16 his sophomore year and Rich was an essential key player. Now the proud father of 3 is married and also tells his love and basketball story.
